Council staff to circulate CIP prioritization survey; public-works gives street project updates

Council staff said on Oct. 7 they will circulate a survey to council members allowing them to prioritize one-time and ongoing capital-improvement projects ahead of next year's CIP. Staff said councilors will be able to review project briefings and mark funding preferences, and that responses will be aggregated into a matrix showing council priorities.
Public-works staff provided construction updates: the Twentieth and Harrison intersection is expected to be fully open and operational around Oct. 20; a tabletop traffic-calming installation on Taylor Avenue south of the college is nearing completion and should finish in about two to three weeks; and any final paving on 20 Seventh Street may await a sewer lateral installation tied to a new trailhead project in Weber County before the city finishes asphalt work.
Staff asked councilors to complete the CIP prioritization within a roughly two-week window and promised to send the survey link and project briefings by email. No formal council action was taken at the work session; staff will incorporate council rankings into the administration's CIP preparation process.
