An administrative judge administered the official oath of office to the 2025–2027 Dallas City Council at the Morton H. Myerson Symphony Center, completing the formal swearing-in portion of the city's inauguration ceremony.
City Secretary Billy Ray Johnson and Mayor Eric L. Johnson (who presided over portions of the program) presented official certificates of election to incoming council members. The emcee read the names of incoming and outgoing council members and invited those newly elected to come forward to receive their certificates.
The oath was administered by the judge in a standard form: officials were asked to raise their right hands and repeat, "Do solemnly swear or affirm..." The program listed incoming members and the districts they will represent; transcript spellings vary for some names. Outgoing members — identified in the program as serving multiple terms — were publicly thanked for their service.
Following the oaths and certificates, the mayor delivered his inaugural address and the ceremony continued with musical selections and a benediction.
