Herriman boards adopt proposed maximum levies and council adopts certified city rate; small per-household increases forecast

Herriman officials on June 11 reviewed certified tax rates for service districts and the city and recorded motions signaling intent to levy proposed maximum amounts while explaining that final levies would be set after required public hearings.

Kyle, the staff presenter, told the Herriman City Fire Service Area board that the certified tax rate (CTR) for 2025 is 0.001329 and that growth in valuation would generate roughly $382,000 in new revenue for the district. He outlined a staff model showing a $147,766 revenue increase (about a 1.7% rate change) that would raise costs by roughly $8 per year for an average $640,000 home. The HCFSA moved to adopt Resolution R01-25 proposing a maximum levy amount of $8,552,067; the motion was made by Jared and seconded by Sherry and approved by recorded voice votes from those members on the record.
