Herriman warns of multi-project summer disruptions: secondary water, sewer work and UDOT interchanges

LaFollette flagged a secondary-water installation on 5600 West (Rosecrest Road) between Main Street and 1304 South that will require crews to work under the roadway and could cause lane interruptions for a couple of months. He urged residents to plan extra travel time.
He also detailed a sewer installation (described on the podcast as occurring on 2700 West/20 Seventh West) scheduled Friday night through Monday morning that will close southbound lanes near 120 Sixth to Redwood Road, requiring a detour along South Redwood Road. Those closures are related to a local sewer project and should clear for rush hour on Monday, LaFollette said.
LaFollette and Mayor Palmer discussed ongoing UDOT interchange work on Bangerter Highway that is causing longer-term congestion and said that UDOT-led Mountain View Freeway construction beginning in 2027 will create multi-year impacts but ultimately improve travel. Both officials emphasized they have limited authority over UDOT projects and will provide updates as the agency releases schedules and detour plans.
No new city votes or contract awards were announced during the episode. Officials urged patience, advanced planning for commutes, and that the city will communicate changes and detours as they become available.
