The proposed contract includes a 3% initial increase over current costs and a $150-per-month escalator in subsequent years; it also includes a 60‑day termination notice for either party.
Committee members noted the firm’s long-standing relationship with the city. “Frankly, didn't pay attention to the paperwork,” Jesse said, describing the lapse in executing an updated contract while praising the quality of the firm's work. The committee asked about the length of the prior engagement and were told the firm had worked with the city for about two years.
The committee approved the contract by voice vote; the motion to approve was made and seconded during the meeting. No dissent was recorded on the motion.
The contract will go into effect as written on March 1, 2026, and the city emphasized the 60‑day termination clause as mutual protection.
