Herriman council fills committee vacancies, approves appointment to regional recycling board

The Herriman City Council reviewed annual committee and external-board assignments and approved several changes at its Jan. 14 meeting.
Staff presented the list of openings and current assignments. Councilmembers agreed to place Matt Basham on the Utah League of Cities and Towns (ULCT) legislative policy committee and the South Valley Chamber representation, and to move Matt onto the council’s audit roster while placing Tara on the education committee and youth council.
The council also approved resolution R01-2026, appointing Jared Henderson to serve on the Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling Board. The motion to approve the resolution was made by Jared, seconded by Teddy, and carried by roll-call vote with all present voting yes.
Council members noted assignments are reviewed annually and may shift as the city grows and additional opportunities arise. Staff indicated one additional board (TransJordan) was omitted from the packet and will be returned for formal action at a future meeting.
