Herriman approves interlocal reimbursement with Olympia PID for 7300 West roadway

The Herriman City Council on Oct. 22 approved Resolution R52-2025 to execute an interlocal agreement with the Olympia Public Infrastructure District to reimburse construction of about 4,650 feet of roadway on 7300 West from Main Street to Herriman Boulevard.
Project manager Blake outlined the project: a five-lane roadway with center turn lane, bike lanes and sidewalks, 8-foot trails on both sides in many sections, pedestrian tunnels at Butterfield Creek and Olympia Boulevard, and a signal at Main Street. Construction is underway on the south end; staff said the roadway should be open in 2026 once connected with the Herriman Boulevard and U111 projects.
Blake said no city funds are being used directly for this agreement; funding includes a $4 million MSD allocation transferred from Salt Lake County and additional grant funding from UDOT under House Bill 488 (2024). Council moved and approved the resolution authorizing the agreement (motion by Sherry, second by Teddy).
The agreement formalizes reimbursement to the PID, the PID will manage bidding and construction, and the city will coordinate on final design elements and signals. Council approved the resolution to keep the project moving forward.
