UTA to start Route 126 through Herriman April 14; initial service hourly

The Utah Transit Authority will launch a new Route 126 through Herriman on April 14, city communications manager John LaFollette said on the Herrimanology podcast recorded March 20. The route includes stops listed online at 130 Fourth South, Central Ridge, the Salt Lake Community College campus and Herriman City Hall.
"They are installing poles right now," LaFollette said, describing both boarding stops and route-marker poles placed at major intersections to guide drivers. He said UTA calls April 13 a "change day" when multiple route adjustments take effect and the Herriman segment is expected to begin service on Monday, April 14.
LaFollette said the initial service level will be about once hourly, with the agency monitoring ridership to consider increasing frequency later. Mary Palmer, who joined the episode as a guest, added that the city confirmed with UTA the system may not have every permanent stop in place on day one but that temporary signage would be installed to support riders.
Local officials said the line was added because there is sufficient demand in the area to justify testing a new route. City staff urged riders to watch UTA and city channels for stop locations and any subsequent schedule updates.
