Eagle Coffee founders move from pop-ups to a permanent shop at The Square in Denton

Two University of North Texas alumni who began Eagle Coffee as a pop-up and cart have opened a permanent location at The Square in Denton, where the founders say community support and a busy opening day are paying off.

The founders, identified by the reporter as Frankie and Allison, said they first met during freshman orientation in 2017 and launched Eagle Coffee through several pop-up events and a coffee cart before taking a dedicated space inside Studio LaSalle. "We wanted to make something our own here in Denton," one founder said.

They recounted a slow start. "Literally, our first ever, we sold, like, 6 coffees. We made, like, $60," a founder said, adding that later pop-ups sometimes sold only three or a single coffee. Those early results at pop-ups left the founders questioning whether people would come out to support them.

Since moving into the Studio LaSalle space, the founders said more customers have stopped by. One called opening day "10 times more people than I thought we'd see," and described the turnout as validating. "People genuinely do support us," another founder said.
