City manager: Marysville bike path 95% complete; spring restoration and ADA ramp concern remain

Marysville — City Manager Quentin Bishop told the City Council on Jan. 12 that the bike-path project is largely complete but still requires restoration work in spring and fixes to drainage and an ADA ramp.
"We're 95% complete on the bike path, and so the only thing that's remaining is the restoration that's gonna occur in the spring," Bishop said, adding that hydroseeding and straw restoration are planned once frost ends. He said the contractor (identified in the meeting as the concrete contractor) still owes a couple of ramps and that concrete poured in cold weather will likely need repairs come spring.
Bishop identified two specific areas of concern: a low contour near 2430 River Road where water collects and a pinch point at the corner of Mackin and River Road where an ADA-compliant ramp becomes underwater during rain events. "We cannot have an ADA ramp underwater at any part of the year," Bishop told the council, and said engineering firm PCE will need to reshoot and likely remove and replace some work to ensure the ramp remains above the water line when runoff occurs.
Bishop said remaining concrete punch-list work and delamination repairs are planned for April after warmer conditions return. Councilors thanked staff and asked for follow-up when restoration work is scheduled.
