City Manager Quentin Bishop told the council the Adventure Cycling Association, in coordination with MDOT and county officials, recommended the change because it would keep long-haul cyclists off Range Road and onto what the groups judged to be a safer route through Marysville. "They determined that one of the safer routes is if we move the route from Range Road and keep it along M‑29 and have it run up to Michigan Avenue," Bishop said.
