Planning Commission approves two-year extension for La Prisma Court (LOM 624)

The Lompoc Planning Commission voted Feb. 11 to approve a two-year time extension for the La Prisma Court vesting tentative tract, LOM 624, extending the period for the map to be recorded through 2028.
City staff told commissioners the project, located at 930 North V Street and originally approved in February 2024, proposes to subdivide the site into 20 lots, 18 of which would be single-family residential. Staff recommended adoption of Resolution No. 102326 to grant the extension based on the findings and draft conditions of approval; staff also stated that the time-extension request does not require additional environmental review under the staff-reported analysis.
The commission opened the public hearing and asked for comments; no members of the public rose and there were no callers. Chair moved to adopt Resolution No. 102326; a commissioner seconded the motion and the commission proceeded to vote to approve the extension. City staff had indicated the applicant’s representative was not present for the hearing.
"If approved, the map would extend till 2028," city staff said during the presentation.
The extension pauses the map-recording deadline and allows the applicant additional time to record the subdivision map under the conditions attached to the resolution. The commission’s action forwards the resolution and staff recommendations for the project record; next steps are administrative (recording the map before the extended expiration) rather than further discretionary review by the commission.
