Deputy County Administrator Donna Krause presented the proposed 2026 board calendar and noted the draft includes the budget calendar and a Jan. 21 joint meeting with the school board, typically scheduled for 5–7 p.m. The board initially adopted the calendar as presented; staff later brought a revision after realizing Oct. 6 coincided with National Night Out and the board voted to move that October meeting to Oct. 8.
The board voted to enter a closed session to consult legal counsel on a proposed electric transmission line project and to consider specific board appointees, citing Virginia Code 2.2‑3711 A.1 and A.8.
