The Mariposa County Board of Supervisors on Jan. 20 voted to continue consideration of a loan balance forgiveness application for Mountain Meadow Farms (a Community Development Block Grant micro‑enterprise loan) to Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. so the applicant could attend and present. County Administrative Officer Joe Lynch said the item previously received a 2–1 vote and requires a hearing anew because three votes are needed for a valid action.
Lynch told the board Miss Ostrom had been notified for the Feb. 10 hearing; he recommended continuance to ensure fairness and a fully vetted decision. Supervisor Kaiser announced she would recuse herself from this item because she is a recipient of one of the same loans and said the county has requested an FPPC opinion on whether she may participate. The board continued the item on a motion by Supervisor Smalcom, seconded by Supervisor Poe; the motion carried with four votes in favor and Supervisor Kaiser recusing.
The board asked staff to set the item for a date‑certain hearing (Feb. 10 at 11 a.m.) so the applicant may appear with staff and provide information to support review and deliberation.
