Hanford Police pin five promoted officers and swear them into office
Summary
The council recognized promotions in the Hanford Police Department: a lieutenant, a sergeant and three corporals were sworn in and received ceremonial pinning; the council also recognized a local high‑school water polo championship team.
The Hanford Police Department held a badge‑pinning and oath‑of‑office segment during the regular meeting. Chief Huddleston introduced five promotions and read service biographies for each honoree: Lieutenant Chad Allen, Sergeant Larry Leeds, Corporal Kevin Wheat, Corporal Daniel Todd and Corporal Sean Paul Crane.
The city clerk administered the oath of office and family members performed the pinning. Chief Huddleston noted the officers’ long service and specialty assignments, including SWAT, traffic and school resource roles. The council and mayor congratulated the officers and invited family photos during a brief recess.
After the pinning, the council recognized Sierra Pacific High School’s girls water polo team for winning its first Central Section championship and presented certificates to the coach and players.
