Council approves franchise agreement with "Send Away" for telecommunications services

Herriman City Council voted Nov. 12 to approve a franchise agreement with Send Away for telecommunication services, adopting Resolution R55-2025. Staff said the agreement follows the city’s template used with other telecom and broadband providers and was previously reviewed in a work session.
Todd, the staff presenter, told the council the company’s requested changes to the city template had been declined during prior review and that Send Away accepted the city’s standard language. He cautioned that as applications increase staff will evaluate right-of-way impacts on a case-by-case basis and return to council if broader franchise policy adjustments are necessary.
Council moved and approved the resolution (motion by Sherry; second by Jared). The vote was recorded in the meeting minutes with all present members voting in favor.
