The committee reported it toured the Ogden transfer station recycling facility and concluded that the site performs sorting and bailing for recyclable streams, and that some materials are forwarded to additional Salt Lake–area facilities. The committee emphasized its volunteer status, time constraints and the need for quantifiable outcomes (for example, pounds recycled) to show program impact.
Council members asked committee representatives to highlight measurable outcomes and to continue coordination with city staff; a council member who requested the transfer‑station audit was told the committee’s review confirmed processing steps and market flows. The committee said it will recruit for open volunteer slots and asked the council for direction on priority topics for the next year.
