Steve Handy, chair of the Ogden Pioneer Days Foundation, told the City Council the festival is in solid financial shape and that organizers plan to build on volunteer and sponsor support for 2026. “We can actually report revenues of 779,000,” Handy said, and he added that sponsor revenue totaled $644,000.
The foundation presented an economic‑impact estimate compiled with Weber State that placed the event’s local economic effect at about $4,700,000 based on attendee and contestant survey responses. Handy described a broad sponsorship base (112 sponsors) and volunteer support—roughly 500 volunteers—that organizers say underpins concessions, parade operations and rodeo staffing.
Foundation leaders highlighted programming additions, including a Bulls, Broncs & Bands event that lost a small amount of money in its first year but will be tried again in 2026. Vice chairs and committee members noted several operational successes: growth in social‑media reach, expanded outreach to bring attendees from beyond Weber County, and special events coordination such as military appreciation and a limited F‑35 flyover.
Council members thanked the foundation and raised no objections to the report. The foundation said it will continue planning and return to council as needed with budget or schedule updates for 2026.
