Mayor Eric Johnson and city and team officials on Tuesday announced a partnership to locate a Dallas Wings practice facility at Joey Jorgoses Park in West Oak Cliff, part of a plan city leaders said will create jobs, youth programming and renewed park use.
"The Dallas Wings are more than a team," Mayor Eric Johnson said, adding the location was chosen after a "data driven analysis" of zoning, topography, environmental records and highway access. He said the project is intended to "invest in parts of Dallas that can especially benefit from the opportunities that something like this project is going to bring."
Greg Bibb, CEO and managing partner of the Dallas Wings, said the move builds on an earlier council action: "unanimous approval of our 15 year use and incentive agreement on 04/24/2024," which he said…
