The Herriman City Planning Commission on Wednesday approved a subdivision plat and a conditional-use permit for a new Bowles fire station and also approved a two-step set of actions for Greenford Lane Church, while authorizing a split street dedication with Riverton City.
City planner Lauren presented maps and renderings for the Bowles station site, saying the parent parcel is roughly 20 acres and that the new station lot would be a little over 1.5 acres with approximately 30 feet on the southern edge dedicated as roadway to the city. Staff recommended approval of the subdivision with three conditions. Applicant Justin told the commission the project team had installed an 8-foot precast wall, increased plantings around adjacent residences, and added enclosures for the dumpster and generator to mitigate sight and sound.
