The Alexandria Board of Zoning Appeals voted to approve prior meeting minutes, discussed scheduling a training session by the city attorney and elected its officers for the coming year.
During review of the Jan. 12, 2026 minutes, one member said they had not attended that meeting and could not personally verify details; other members said the recorded motions matched their recollection. A motion to approve the minutes was moved and seconded and the board adopted the minutes by voice vote.
Board members discussed holding training after a meeting to make attendance easier; staff said the city attorney would be available and that the board would look at dates in April or May. When the board awaited the arrival of Vice Chair Miss Baumann, members voted to recess; the transcript records informal conversation during the recess.
After reconvening, the chair accepted a nomination to continue as chair, Miss Evelyn confirmed she would continue as secretary and members nominated Miss Baumann to continue as vice chair. A motion to approve the slate (chair continuing, Miss Baumann as vice chair, Miss Evelyn as secretary) was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The meeting then adjourned.
The transcript records the administrative decisions and plans for training; it does not include the full names of every board member present or a roll-call tally of the votes.
