Controller Goins summarized preapproved payroll and claims of $195,298.96 since the last meeting and this week's payroll and claims of $4,111.17, bringing the total recommended amount to $199,410.13. After calling for public comment (none was offered), the board moved and approved the payroll and claims by roll-call vote.
Staff then presented a memo recommending Joe Sears — described in the packet as a longtime owner-operator of Sears and Sons Waste Removal Services and currently employed by Republic Services — for appointment to the Citizens Advisory Committee. Board members expressed thanks to Sears for stepping up; the appointment was moved, seconded and approved by unanimous roll-call.
The Citizens Advisory Committee will receive the one community grant application now in the pipeline and will prepare a recommendation for the board’s March meeting.
