WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita City Council took a series of votes on Sept. 3 that advanced infrastructure, parks, housing and zoning measures. The meeting included unanimous votes on multiple agenda items and one recorded abstention on a HOME fund allocation.
Key outcomes: the council approved the consent agenda (items 1–15) and passed petitions for public improvements covering water and sewer needs. It adopted a budget adjustment of $150,000 within the Park & Recreation operating budget to expedite repairs to playgrounds damaged by summer storms.
