“You know, the language of the resolution did not explain all of the circumstances around the restoration of this home,” Senator Peterson said, detailing the purchase to allow the neighbor to stay in place and later donate the property to the Polish Home Association. Senator Saldana added: “Well, I rise in, surprise and delight to be able to stand in support of senate resolution 86 62,” noting personal ties to the facility and the contributions of refugees and immigrants to the local community.
The resolution was adopted by voice vote after members answered “aye.” After adoption, President recognized Roman Rogalski and members of the Polish Home Association seated in the North Gallery, including Lydia Jasklowska and Pavel Krupa, who rose to be acknowledged by the chamber.
On procedural business, the Secretary announced introductions and the first reading of bills on the third legislative day. Senate Bill 6,106 was read and referred to the Committee on Business, Trade and Economic Development.
