US Youth Soccer announced that Wichita will host the National President’s Cup in 2026, 2027 and 2028, the organization’s director of events said at a mayoral briefing.
"US youth soccer has selected Wichita to host the National President's Cup for the next 3 years, 2026, 2027, and 2028, marking the first time in history in the same city for 3 consecutive years," Jason Elliott, director of events for US Youth Soccer, said. He cited Wichita’s central location, community partnerships and the Shields Striker Sports Complex as reasons for the selection.
The three‑year commitment means every match for all three tournaments will be staged at the Shields Striker Sports Complex, a newer all‑turf facility that US Youth Soccer praised for operations and logistics. Elliott said Wichita previously hosted the President’s Cup in 2023 and 2024 and that feedback from athletes, coaches and families informed the decision.
At the outdoor briefing, the mayor thanked Visit Wichita and other partners for their role in attracting high‑profile events. "What a special announcement, and thank you so very much for highlighting why Wichita is so special," the mayor said.
Visit Wichita and the city will provide local operational support and hospitality, the speakers said. US Youth Soccer and local organizers did not provide an estimated attendance or economic impact figure during the briefing; those numbers were not specified.
The selection is expected to bring multiple years of youth tournaments and associated visitors to Wichita; organizers said they look forward to welcoming teams and families in summer 2026. For more information or updates, Visit Wichita will post details on event logistics and schedules.
