Wichita Park and Recreation seeks lifeguards and invites input on parks master plan

Wichita Park and Recreation is recruiting for seasonal aquatics positions and encouraged residents to apply and to weigh in on the Parks Master Plan.
Joe Martin, Aquatic Supervisor for Wichita Park and Recreation, said lifeguard roles require no prior experience because the city provides training in water-safety, rescue techniques and CPR. “The good news is that no prior experience is needed,” Martin said, adding that the city is looking for “enthusiastic and reliable individuals, ages 15 and older.” He listed openings for lifeguards, pool managers, splash-pad operators and cashiers across six public pools and directed applicants to wichita.gov/aquatics.
The mayor also reminded residents about the ImagineICT community survey to inform the Parks Master Plan, saying the survey takes about 15 minutes and will help set priorities for parks, community centers and recreation programs for the next 10 years.
Officials said the aquatics positions provide competitive pay, flexible schedules and lifeguard training that can be valuable for first-time job seekers and student applicants.
Those interested were asked to apply at wichita.gov/aquatics and to complete the ImagineICT survey on the city website.
