Senate holds brief floor session: roll call, bill introductions, committee reports and pro forma adjournment
Summary

The presiding officer called the Senate to order; the clerk conducted roll call, recording the presence of numerous senators. Guest chaplain L. D. Holmes led a prayer asking for wisdom and restraint in speech and closed with "Amen." Senator Petty introduced pages from Turner Sixth Grade Academy and Senator Shane introduced page Ali Klopfer from Blue Valley Middle School.

Several senators used their time for scheduling and committee notices: Senator Billinger said the Ways and Means Committee will meet tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.; Senator Warren said Judiciary will not meet Friday and will instead meet Monday, Feb. 16; Senator Erickson said Education will not meet Monday; Senator Tyson scheduled Tax Committee at 9:30 a.m. Monday; Senator Fagg announced Utilities will meet Monday at 1:30 p.m. Majority Leader Senator Blasey said the Senate will be on general orders Monday and that Senate Republicans will caucus at 1 p.m. about time-sensitive legislation.
Late in the session, Senator Blasey moved "I move the senate adjourn pro forma until 9AM on Friday, 02/13/2026." The chair called for the ayes and noes; after a voice vote the chair stated, "Motion carries," and the Senate adjourned.
No floor debate on individual bills or recorded roll-call votes on substantive measures were taken during this session. The next scheduled floor action referenced during announcements is general orders on Monday and committee meetings as noted by individual committee chairs.
