Mayor Jadwin told Gahanna City Council on Monday that the city received a congressional earmark of $250,000 to support flood mitigation improvements at the Creekside Garage.
"We received a congressional earmark of $250,000," the mayor said, and recorded that the funding was championed by Congresswoman Beatty. The mayor described the project as critical to protecting downtown infrastructure and local businesses and noted the city had advocated with the region’s congressional delegation during recent Washington visits.
The mayor also warned of a recent phishing campaign impersonating city staff and advising residents not to respond to unexpected payment requests. "Official city emails will always come from mcahanna.gov," he said, and urged residents not to click links, reply to suspicious messages or send wire transfers. City staff said they will publish posts and coordinate outreach with community liaison officers and civic groups ahead of the upcoming tax season.
Councilmembers asked about resources for further outreach; officials said social-media posts and direct engagement by community liaison officers and civic groups are planned.
