The Utah County Commission recognized Shad Burraston as its April employee of the month, noting his more than eight years of service in public works and his recent promotion to division manager of buildings.
Commission leadership said Burraston led an update to access controls across county facilities to reduce the risk of key-card cloning and worked long hours to resolve electrical problems at the Administration Building during his first week as division manager. "He has always been a team player," an official said, adding that Burraston helped restore building operations by coordinating with city contractors and building staff.
An unidentified speaker invited the honoree to the front for a photo and small gifts. During those remarks an unidentified speaker said, "I'm humbled beyond belief." The nomination form and kind words read at the dais were credited to colleague Glenn Tanner.
The recognition preceded routine agenda management and the commission's move into closed session later in the meeting.
