DuPage Care Center staff report architectural review issues and await cost details
Summary

DuPage Care Center staff provided an update to the Human Services Committee on Feb. 3 about an expedited architectural review and related follow-up work.
Janelle Chadwick reported that the architect reviewed multiple units (2 North, 2 Center, 2 South) on a short timeline and flagged several required changes. Staff implemented some measures quickly to avoid delays, but Chadwick said they later discovered incorrect rent references in the review and that certain requirements did not apply to the facility as presented.
Chadwick said there is not yet a dollar estimate for the items that need correction and that the county is waiting for formal letters and next steps from the state review process. She singled out facilities staff support and named Nick Jensen for assistance in resolving issues.
Chadwick also reported that the facility’s gala is expected to have about 140 attendees; staff said they will not yet project revenue from the event.
Committee members thanked staff and asked no further substantive questions at this time. The committee adjourned after brief additional updates from community services staff.
