Piedmont Community Charter board reviews January finances showing monthly surplus and $6.6 million in funds

The Piedmont Community Charter School board reviewed a detailed finance report for January at its Feb. 11 meeting, with the treasurer reporting a monthly surplus and multi‑million dollar cash balances.
Speaker 4, presenting the treasurer and finance committee report, said total revenue for Jan. 1–31 was $1,612,819.51 and expenses were $1,495,491.71, yielding a net surplus before investment of $117,327.80. "Once you add in the income and expenses from the investment account, our net surplus for the month after the investment was $182,369.91," Speaker 4 reported.
The report showed cash and investments totaled $6,613,606.07, broken out as $3,073,631.29 in the operating account, $159,195.72 in the student activities account and $3,379,779.06 fair market value in the investment account, plus $1,000 in petty cash. Speaker 4 said the cash and investments on hand as of June 30, 2025 were $7,000,393.53 and that the expected cash and investments on hand as of June 30, 2026 were $7,397,967.97. After accounting for the amount held in the PNC investment account, that yielded an expected available cash position at the end of June of $4,018,188.91.
Speaker 4 also reported balances held at US Bank: a bond fund balance of $376,773.44, a debt service reserve of $1,794,007.62 and a repair and replacement account balance of $5,670.49 for a total of $2,176,451.55 held at that bank.
Board members asked questions after the presentation; Speaker 4 invited further questions and thanked staff for the work on the report. The transcript records appreciation to "Miss Sutter" during the discussion.
