Audra Worthing, community liaison with Congressman Adrian Smith’s district office, addressed the board to describe constituent services and local outreach programs.
Worthing said the district office assists residents with federal agencies including Social Security, Veterans Affairs and the IRS, and described internships and the Youth Advisory Council as opportunities for local students. She highlighted the Congressional Art Competition and academy nomination procedures and encouraged local participation.
Worthing also summarized recent congressional activity: appropriations bills resolving a recent partial federal shutdown had been signed the prior day, and the office had released guidance related to the 45C clean fuel production tax credit. She said the congressman continues to focus on biofuels policy and credited Treasury guidance for clarifying use of the 45C credit.
Worthing offered contact information and encouraged residents to submit constituent casework to the district office, noting the office maintains three field offices to serve Nebraska’s 3rd District.
