Keith County OKs $1,500 PSAP credit card for emergency services manager

The Keith County Board of Commissioners voted to authorize a county credit card for PSAP manager JD Cartwright on a motion approved by roll call.
Cartwright told the board the office currently uses a card in another staff member's name and asked to switch it to his for purchases such as supplies and equipment. "We currently have one downstairs, but it's obviously in Laurie's name," he said, asking that the card be changed so he can make routine Walmart and office purchases without using a staff member's personal account. The board discussed bank procedures for canceling or closing the existing card and noted a signed copy of the minutes would likely be required at the bank.
Schroeder moved to authorize the card and Irvin seconded; the board approved the motion unanimously by roll call. Anderson, Irvin, Schroeder and Crandall voted yes.
Clerk Sandy Olson was asked to prepare the signed minutes needed to complete the banking change. No changes to the county's overall procurement or purchasing-limit policies were made at the meeting; board members said they would confirm bank requirements and ensure the prior card is closed to prevent accidental charges.
