Dunn County to consider changes to reimbursement rules and adopt records-retention schedules

Dunn County supervisors are scheduled to consider two administrative code updates at the Feb. 18 meeting aimed at aligning county policy with administrative practice and statewide retention schedules.
From the committee on administration, supervisors will take up the second reading of an ordinance amending Chapter 7 of the county financial management code to clarify meals and incidental reimbursement rules. “This update helps clarify language and align our policies as we transition to the new financial system,” Dunn County Manager Dan Dunbar said.
The board will also hear a first reading of an ordinance amending Chapter 6 related to records retention and public records requests. Dunbar said the ordinance “will adopt the records retention schedules defined by the Public Records Board,” aligning Dunn County with many other counties and municipalities and reducing administrative effort to define retention periods.
Dunbar added the ordinance would both define how long the county will keep certain records and outline the process for responding to public records requests, improving clarity and accountability for request responses.
