Keith County commissioners on Nov. 5 approved a formal resolution authorizing the county board chair to sign the year-end certification of the county highway superintendent required by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
The chair introduced the resolution and cited Nebraska statutory sections discussed during the presentation (the board cited the requirement to certify appointments and provide documentation for the county highway superintendent). Commissioner Irvin moved to authorize the chair to sign the certification; Schroeder seconded. The board voted unanimously in favor.
The certification must be filed with NDOT by Dec. 31, 2025, and should include documentation of appointments, license numbers and appointment types as the department requires for incentive eligibility. County staff said they will prepare and mail the documentation after signatures are collected.
