Fostoria committee delays action on portable storage container ordinance for deeper review

Unidentified Speaker 1 warned that any amendments would need to be finalized at the next committee meeting so voting could occur during the council meeting that same evening if the ordinance was not tabled. The committee seconded the motion and agreed to continue discussion at a later date.
During public comment, Deb said she had spoken with zoning and raised a question about how the ordinance would apply to landlords, noting that Fostoria has a vacant property registration. "It's an ordinance because I talked to zoning, and we have a vacant property registration in place," she said. The committee added Deb's concern to open issues for the next meeting.
No ordinance language was amended or adopted at this meeting; the committee directed staff and members to perform a deeper review and return with any recommended changes at the next Law and Ordinance Committee meeting.
