Library director highlights events and 2025 usage gains at Crown Point Library

Julie, director of the Crown Point Library, presented upcoming programs and performance statistics to the Mondays with the Mayor audience. She outlined partnerships with the Crown Point Rotary for a parent book club and a Screenagers documentary showing (March 9), a blood drive this Thursday, an elementary student art show (February–March), a puzzle swap and a Stray Dogs improv performance with Crown Point Schools on February 25.
Julie reported 2025 usage figures: 125,932 e-material circulations (a 13.6% increase), 360,569 in-person circulations (a 0.4% decrease), and roughly 236,168 visits to the building (an increase of about 9,000). "We are one of the premier libraries in the state of Indiana, and I say that proudly as the director," she said.
Julie said the library helps drive downtown foot traffic, supports early literacy and job training, and frequently partners with city events. She encouraged residents to attend programs and pick up the library newsletter for details.
