Staff requested authority to appropriate $138,223.25 from the county's disaster relief fund and to permit an emergency purchase of a replacement generator with any excess cost to be covered by the capital improvement reserve. Ms. Sturgill told the board the rental quote provided by Carter Machinery for a four-week period was "$3,255." She added that the exact purchase price for a replacement generator was not yet known and that staff would return with detailed quotes if additional funds beyond the requested appropriation were required.
The board voted to grant the requested appropriation and authority for rental and emergency procurement, with the motion carried 4-0. The board directed staff to return with final cost information before spending beyond the disaster relief appropriation.
