Staff and board members discussed alternatives — a shorter bridge contract or a cancel-and-rewrite to realign the agreement with the county fiscal year — but the board approved the one‑year contract and directed staff to seek options to realign future contracts with the county’s fiscal cycle.
The board voted to fund the agreement from its reserve for contingency; the motion passed with seven in favor and none opposed. Board members asked staff to pursue a midyear credit or fiscal-year realignment so ongoing costs fall in regular budget cycles.
