The Industrial Development Authority already approved a $33,750 commitment earlier the same day; the service authority was to consider its portion.
Supervisors discussed whether an additional stakeholder (BBU/BVU) could be included to reduce the county’s share; staff said they would add the utility to the request list and explore regionalization. A motion to approve the county contribution from reserves passed unanimously.
Next steps: staff will finalize participation agreements and return with any changes; the town and service authority will proceed with the study as procured by Abingdon.
