Senate passes H.790 budget adjustments, adopts weekend adjournment resolution

The Vermont Senate on Feb. 18, 2026 passed H.790, an act relating to fiscal year 2026 budget adjustments, in concurrence with the proposed amendment and immediately moved to message the action to the House. The passage and the subsequent motion to suspend rules and send H.790 to the House were carried by voice vote.
Earlier in the session the Senate read and adopted JRS 41, a joint resolution setting the weekend adjournment so that when the two houses adjourn on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, they meet again no later than Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026. The resolution was adopted by voice vote after the clerk presented the reading.
After completing orders of the day, senators made routine committee announcements and the Senate stood adjourned until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026.
