Chambers, who accepted the award, told the board he appreciates the opportunity to work with "quality people," and singled out colleagues by first name while thanking staff who support his work.
The prosecutor praised Chambers for his contribution to investigations, saying Chambers "reviews all the body cams," compiles footage, prepares discovery and routinely follows up with officers, victims and witnesses. "Big case, Rick's instrumental and he's always right there now," the prosecutor said.
County officials did not attach a monetary award or present a policy change; the item was a formal recognition of long service. Commissioners also offered to post the recognition on the county's Facebook page, pending the honoree's permission.
The meeting then closed with no additional business recorded.
