The Suamico Village Board approved a 2‑lot certified survey map for PDZ Investments LLC on Feb. 16 and set a March 9 visioning session for the village’s comprehensive plan update.
Zoning Administrator Dunks described the proposed certified survey map (CSM) to create a zero‑lot‑line duplex on parcel SU2135 (Snowshoe Trail). Dunks said the plan meets required firewall construction between units, and that utility easements crossing one unit’s property would be shown on the recorded map. The Planning Commission recommended approval with three conditions: staff review of private covenants and deed restrictions; creation of required easements for utilities; and compliance with applicable ordinances and reviewing agencies.
Trustee Romas moved to approve the CSM with those conditions; Trustee Neto seconded and the motion carried 6–0.
On the comprehensive plan, board members reviewed feedback from the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, which had a significant public discussion about the Farmland Preservation Act. The committee’s input included differing understandings of whether farmland preservation status would trigger assessments if sewer or water laterals are extended. The advisory committee recommended keeping the farmland‑preservation credit program in the plan; staff noted roughly five residents currently receive the credit at about $10 per acre and that the village will face a decision in 2028 about whether to remain in that program. The board emphasized the upcoming public visioning session on March 9 at 6 p.m. in the village hall; Brown County will provide demographic and housing data but will not make recommendations.
Board members encouraged residents to participate in the visioning session and complete a short online survey that will be available to those who cannot attend.
The CSM approval and visioning session are part of an ongoing comprehensive‑plan rewrite aimed at shaping Suamico’s growth and infrastructure over the next decade.
