Board approves FAA real‑estate supplemental agreement at county airport

The Harris County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with the Federal Aviation Administration related to airport real estate Feb. 17.
The agreement, originally executed Oct. 1, 2006, allows the FAA to retain equipment and access at the Harris County Airport. The supplemental agreement extends the term for an additional 20 years, from Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2046. The airport committee recommended the supplemental agreement at its Feb. 12 meeting; county staff reviewed the contract and asked the board to authorize the chairman, county manager and county clerk to execute the document.
Commissioner motion and second were recorded and the board approved the supplemental agreement by show of hands with no opposition.
