Trustees approved the SAFE Act notification procedures addendum to the district comprehensive school safety plans. Staff explained the addendum implements state requirements (per guidance from state associations) to document how schools will notify parents, teachers and staff when certain enforcement officers are present on campus and to ensure protocols for legally required steps (for example, responding to judicial warrants). Staff said these changes must be uploaded to the California Department of Education and incorporated into site safety plans by March 1.
