Zoning board approves 32-foot driveway for Radcliffe Drive home

The Nashua Zoning Board unanimously approved a variance Sept. 11 to expand the driveway at 6 Radcliffe Drive from 20 feet to 32 feet, allowing an extra 12 feet so the homeowner can accommodate additional family vehicles.
The Nashua Zoning Board of Adjustment unanimously approved a driveway-width variance for 6 Radcliffe Drive on Sept. 11.
Applicant Lady Franco DeBanks told the board the household needs more parking because multiple family members live or will live at the house, and said the existing garage holds storage rather than cars. "We have 3 cars, and they have 1," DeBanks said, describing the household parking needs and noting winter parking concerns.
Board members questioned whether the property could realistically fit five or six cars but agreed the board must rule on the variance request as presented. Joseph Patrick moved to approve an increase in driveway width from the 24-foot maximum to 32 feet (20 feet existing, 12 feet additional); Josh Neely seconded. The board found the variance met the required findings and voted 4-0 to approve.
Staff again reminded applicants and neighbors that the decision is subject to a 30-day rehearing/appeal period.
