The Nashua Zoning Board of Adjustment approved a variance on Aug. 13 allowing the Temposi family to encroach 7 feet into a 20-foot side-yard setback to construct an overhang/roofed patio as part of a kitchen addition at 215 Pine Hill Road (R30, Ward 1).
Owner-applicant Douglas Tamposi told the board the overhang is limited to the addition’s roofline and not an expanded structure; the family cited growing household needs. Board members asked whether alternate locations were feasible; the applicant said the kitchen layout made relocation impractical. A motion to approve the variance passed 4–0 after a brief exchange on reasonableness and neighborhood impact.
The approval is subject to the usual 30-day appeal period; contact the Nashua planning department for details.
