Saint Marys council approves records disposition and authorizes tax-collector liaison

The Saint Marys City Council on Feb. 17 approved two procedural resolutions.
Resolution 26-05 authorizes the disposition of identified outdated or nonessential city records to free limited storage space. Staff explained the review process and the need to purge records that no longer pertain to current matters; the motion to approve was moved and seconded and recorded as 'ayes have it.'
Resolution 26-06 authorizes Tom Nicholas, the city’s newly appointed tax collector, to serve as the liaison between the municipality and Berkheimer (tax collection/administration service) so he can receive the most current residential and tax-list database information. Staff advised that the liaison authorization is required for Berkheimer to release updated lists to the collector.
Both resolutions were approved by voice vote at the meeting; council did not amend either resolution during floor discussion.
