Templeton conservation commission approves minutes, continues Malba Road RDA and nominates representative to open-space committee

The Town of Templeton Conservation Commission opened its Feb. 17 meeting by approving the minutes from Jan. 20, 2026 by unanimous vote.
During the public hearings the commission read a request for determination filed by engineer Julian P. Vetruba on behalf of Alan J. Drewen for a Baldwinville Road parcel. The applicant asked to postpone the RDA until May or June because of current snow and drought conditions; the commission voted to continue that item to the May 18, 2026 conservation meeting.
In agent updates, staff reported a move to reinvigorate the Open Space Committee and asked for a conservation commission representative. The body nominated Joanne to serve as the commission’s conservation representative; the nomination was seconded and approved unanimously.
The commission’s agent noted the drought status had been downgraded from level 3 to level 2 as of Feb. 11 and said snowmelt may help groundwater recharge. The commission scheduled its next regular meeting for March 16, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. and then adjourned.
