Nathan Edelman, the town’s independent external auditor, presented the Town of Ross financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2023. California law requires audit partner rotation every six years; this was Edelman’s first year as partner reviewing Ross’s statements. He explained the audit objective (assess completeness and conformity with governmental accounting standards) and reported an unmodified (clean) audit opinion with no internal control deficiencies and no audit adjustments.
Edelman said the audit noted routine items such as a change in accounting for subscription revenue and significant estimates related to pensions and OPEB. Council members thanked staff and the consultant team; Council member (speaker 3) moved to approve the annual financial report and the motion passed on a 4–0 roll‑call vote.
The council accepted the auditor’s report and approved the Town of Ross annual financial report for the year ending 06/30/2023.
